Concrete Calculator
Short answer
Volume = length × width × depth. Enter the mix ratio to estimate cement bags, sand and aggregate.
Wet concrete volume1m³
Cement (≈ 50 kg bags)8.1bags
Sand0.42m³
Aggregate0.84m³
Uses a 1.54 dry-volume factor. Nominal mix estimate — confirm with the mix design.
Formula
Volume = L × W × D · Dry volume = volume × 1.54 · quantities split by mix ratio
How it works
A 1.54 factor converts wet to dry volume. The dry volume is split by the mix ratio (e.g. 1:1.5:3), and cement volume is converted to 50 kg bags (≈ 0.0347 m³ each).
Worked example
A 1 × 1 × 1 m footing at 1:1.5:3 needs ≈ 1 m³ concrete: about 8 bags cement, 0.42 m³ sand, 0.84 m³ aggregate.
Frequently asked questions
- Why the 1.54 factor?
- Dry materials occupy more volume than the finished wet concrete; 1.54 is a common conversion for nominal mixes.
