MNRE ALMM Explained (and Why It Matters for Solar Projects)

ENSOL Engineering TeamPublished 2026-01-20Updated 2026-02-081 min read

The Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) is an MNRE mechanism listing eligible solar PV modules (and, in a separate list, cells) for use in supported and government projects. It governs modules — not structures — but affects every project's procurement.

What ALMM covers

ALMM lists eligible module models and their manufacturers for government, government-assisted and certain other projects. It is a module-eligibility list, maintained by MNRE.

Where structures fit

Mounting structures are procured alongside ALMM-listed modules. ENSOL manufactures the structures; buyers pair them with compliant modules and inverters to meet scheme rules.

Frequently asked questions

Are mounting structures on the ALMM?
No — ALMM lists solar modules (and cells). Structures are procured separately to carry those modules.
