Solar Tracker Structures

One precision-engineered platform, two ways to chase the sun. ENSOL's Single Axis and Dual Axis tracker structures turn sunlight into more energy — heavy galvanised steel, built for utility scale.

Working Principle · Single Axis

Follows the sun, sunrise to sunset

A single-axis tracker turns the whole array on one horizontal axis. As the sun crosses the sky from east to west, the panels rotate to stay square to it — capturing far more of the day than a fixed panel, with just one simple motion to drive and maintain.

  • East–West rotation follows the daily sun arc
  • Big yield gain over fixed-tilt at modest cost
  • Few moving parts — lower maintenance
  • The proven choice for utility-scale plants

Working Principle · Dual Axis

Tracks the sun in two dimensions

A dual-axis tracker adds a second axis, so the array follows both the sun's daily east-west path and its changing height through the seasons. The panels stay almost perfectly perpendicular to the sun all year — the highest yield any mounting can deliver.

  • Two axes: East–West daily + North–South seasonal
  • Panels stay perpendicular to the sun year-round
  • Highest overall generation and accuracy
  • Ideal for research and premium high-yield sites

FAQ

Solar trackers, answered

Common questions on single-axis and dual-axis tracker structures.

It is a steel mounting system that moves PV modules through the day to follow the sun, raising daily generation compared with a fixed-tilt array. ENSOL builds both single-axis and dual-axis trackers in galvanised steel.

Single-axis trackers rotate east-to-west across the day. Dual-axis trackers add north-south movement to follow the sun's seasonal height as well, for the highest possible yield.

Trackers generate meaningfully more than a comparable fixed-tilt system — single-axis up to around a quarter more and dual-axis higher still. Exact figures depend on latitude, irradiance and configuration.

Single-axis trackers are the usual choice — a strong yield boost at lower cost and maintenance than dual-axis.

For high-value, high-precision or research projects and very high-irradiance sites, where maximum yearly generation justifies the added cost and maintenance.

Yes. Designs include operating and stow positions plus bracing engineered for site wind loads per IS 875.

Structural steel to IS 2062 (E250 / E350), designed per IS 800, and hot-dip galvanised to IS 4759 for decades of corrosion-free service.

Yes. Structures ship marked and documented, and ENSOL provides on-site guidance for assembly, alignment and commissioning.
