Overview

Built for the ground — and the wind that crosses it

Open land gives you the freedom to set the perfect tilt, row spacing and clearance — and a ground mount structure is what turns that freedom into generation. ENSOL engineers each array around your real site data: the wind category, the soil, the modules and the plant layout.

Every member is fabricated in-house in Raipur, punched and marked for weld-free site assembly, and hot-dip galvanised so the frame holds its strength across a 25-year service life. Foundations are chosen from geotechnical data and proven with on-site pull-out tests before the array is set.

The range

Six ground mount configurations

From the lowest-cost fixed-tilt field to raised dual-use frames — each configured to the site rather than pulled from a fixed catalogue.

Fixed-Tilt Ground Mount

Fixed-Tilt Ground Mount

A rigid single- or dual-post frame set at a fixed optimum tilt for the site latitude. The workhorse of utility and industrial arrays where the lowest cost per watt and minimal maintenance matter most.

  • Single / dual post
  • Fixed optimum tilt
  • Lowest lifecycle cost
Seasonal Adjustable Tilt

Seasonal Adjustable Tilt

Manually re-set tilt angles for summer and winter to lift annual yield without the cost of a motorised tracker. Ideal for sites that want extra generation with simple, robust hardware.

  • Manual tilt change
  • Higher annual yield
  • No moving drives
Pile-Driven (Ram Pile)

Pile-Driven (Ram Pile)

Galvanised sections driven directly into competent soil — no concrete, fast to install and fully reversible at end of life. The default foundation for large open-ground plants on stable terrain.

  • Zero concrete
  • Rapid install
  • Fully reclaimable
Ground-Screw Foundation

Ground-Screw Foundation

Helical screw anchors for loose, rocky or high-water-table ground where ram piles struggle. Loads are checked with on-site pull-out tests before the array is set.

  • Rocky / loose soil
  • Torque-verified
  • Immediate loading
Concrete Ballast / Pedestal

Concrete Ballast / Pedestal

Precast or cast-in-situ blocks for sites where the ground cannot be penetrated — landfills, capped surfaces or hard rock. Weight-balanced against site wind loads.

  • No ground penetration
  • Landfill & rock
  • Wind-balanced
Elevated / High-Clearance

Elevated / High-Clearance

Raised frames that lift the module bank clear of flooding, grazing or dual land use. Engineered clearances keep the array serviceable while freeing the ground below.

  • Flood clearance
  • Dual land use
  • Serviceable underside
Foundations

The right anchor for the ground you have

The frame is only as sound as what holds it down. ENSOL matches the foundation to your geotechnical data and confirms it with on-site pull-out tests.

01

Ram Pile

Driven steel sections for stable, competent soils. Fastest to install and the lowest-cost option where ground conditions allow.

02

Ground Screw

Torque-set helical anchors for loose, sandy or rocky ground and high water tables — loaded the moment they pass pull-out testing.

03

Concrete Foundation

Cast footings or precast ballast for non-penetrable surfaces such as rock, landfill caps and made-up ground.

Key features

Engineered for the field, built to install fast

Wind-load engineered

Frames analysed to your site's basic wind speed — up to 215 kmph terrain categories — with member sizing to match.

Hot-dip galvanised

Every member is hot-dip galvanised for a service life targeted at 25 years in open, corrosive field conditions.

Pre-punched, pre-fabricated

Members arrive punched, marked and ready to bolt — cutting site labour and eliminating field welding.

Module-agnostic

Rail spacing and clamps configured for framed or bifacial modules in portrait or landscape layouts.

Soil-matched foundations

Ram pile, ground screw or ballast selected from geotechnical data and verified with on-site pull-out tests.

Bolted, reversible builds

Fully bolted assemblies simplify alignment, allow re-torquing and let the plant be de-commissioned cleanly.

Technical specifications

The numbers behind the frame

Indicative specifications — final member sizing, coating class and foundation are confirmed against your site's wind, soil and module data.

Verify all coating grades and yield-strength values against your production sheet before publishing.

Why ENSOL

One partner from soil test to standing array

01

In-house fabrication

Cutting, punching, forming and galvanising under one roof in Raipur — control over quality and lead time.

02

Site-first engineering

Every array is sized against your wind, soil and module data, not a one-size catalogue frame.

03

Volume-ready capacity

Batch production and marked, kitted deliveries keep large plants on schedule.

04

End-to-end support

From geotechnical review and BOM to dispatch and on-site erection guidance.

Manufacturing process

From wind analysis to a standing array

Eleven controlled stages, all under ENSOL's own roof in Raipur.

  1. 01

    Site & wind analysis

Terrain category, basic wind speed and geotechnical data set the loads the frame must carry.

  2. 02

    Structural design

Members are sized and the layout modelled to IS 800 / IS 875 with your module and row geometry.

  3. 03

    Material selection

Steel grade and coating class chosen for the site's corrosion and load profile.

  4. 04

    Cutting & shearing

Sections cut to length on calibrated lines to keep tolerances tight across the batch.

  5. 05

    Punching & marking

Holes are CNC-punched and each member marked for tool-free, weld-free site assembly.

  6. 06

    Forming & welding

Brackets and sub-assemblies are formed and welded, then dressed for galvanising.

  7. 07

    Hot-dip galvanising

Every part is dipped for a uniform zinc layer that protects the frame across its service life.

  8. 08

    Quality inspection

Coating thickness, dimensions and welds are checked against the release checklist.

  9. 09

    Kitting & packing

Members, fasteners and clamps are bundled per row and labelled for the erection sequence.

  10. 10

    Dispatch

Kitted structures are loaded and shipped to site with the fabrication drawings.

  11. 11

    On-site erection support

ENSOL guides pile-setting, alignment and torque so the array goes up right the first time.

FAQ

Questions we hear on ground mount projects

It is a steel framework fixed to the ground — rather than to a roof — that holds solar modules at an engineered tilt. Ground mounts suit open land, giving the freedom to set the ideal angle, spacing and clearance for maximum generation and easy maintenance.

It depends on the soil. Ram (driven) piles suit stable ground and install fastest; ground screws handle loose, sandy or rocky soil and high water tables; concrete footings or ballast are used where the ground can't be penetrated. ENSOL selects the type from your geotechnical data and confirms it with on-site pull-out tests.

Fixed-tilt gives the lowest lifecycle cost and is the standard for most utility and C&I plants. Seasonal-adjustable frames let you re-set the angle for summer and winter to lift annual yield, at a modest cost premium and with simple manual hardware.

Frames are engineered to your site's terrain category and basic wind speed — commonly 150, 180 or 215 kmph — with members and foundations sized accordingly, referencing IS 875 wind provisions.

The galvanised steel system targets a service life of up to 25 years in open field conditions. Coating class and steel grade are matched to how corrosive the site is.

Yes. Beyond fabrication we provide fabrication drawings, kitted and labelled deliveries, and on-site guidance for pile-setting, alignment and torqueing.
