Agrivoltaics Solar Structure

Elevated galvanised steel mounting that raises solar arrays high above farmland — so crops grow below while clean power is generated above, on the very same land.

About

One field, two harvests

What is an Agrivoltaics Solar Structure?

An agrivoltaics solar structure is an elevated steel mounting system that lifts PV modules high above the ground so the land beneath can still be farmed. ENSOL fabricates these structures in hot-dip galvanised steel for dual land use — agriculture below, solar generation above.

Dual land utilization

Instead of choosing between crops and clean power, agrivoltaics lets the same parcel of land do both. The elevated frame keeps the field open for cultivation while the array overhead delivers energy — turning a single asset into two revenue streams.

Farming + Solar together

High ground clearance lets tractors, labour and equipment move freely beneath the panels. Partial shade from the array can reduce heat stress on some crops and cut soil-water evaporation, while the panels stay cool and efficient over living ground.

Crop-friendly design

Row spacing, panel pitch and clearance height are engineered so enough sunlight still reaches the crop canopy below. Each layout is tuned to the crop, the latitude and the machinery the farm uses.

High durability & long life

Built from heavy structural steel and hot-dip galvanised to IS 4759, the structure withstands wind, weather and decades of field exposure with minimal maintenance.

Why ENSOL

Four decades of structural steel fabrication, in-house galvanising and IS 800 / IS 875 engineering under one ISO 9001 system — with custom heights and spans designed to your farm and your crop.

Why grow crops and power together

Dual Land Utilization

Crops below and solar above — one parcel of land, two productive uses.

Farming + Solar Together

High clearance keeps the field open for cultivation and machinery.

Crop-Friendly Shade

Engineered spacing lets sunlight reach the crop canopy below.

Reduced Water Evaporation

Partial shade lowers soil-water loss and heat stress on crops.

Higher Land ROI

Two revenue streams — harvest and generation — from the same land.

Climate-Resilient Farming

Shelter from extreme sun and weather supports steadier yields.

The high clearance keeps the field open for crops and machinery while the array overhead generates power, so a single parcel of land produces both a harvest and electricity.

No. Row spacing, panel pitch and height are engineered so enough light reaches the crop canopy. Partial shade can even reduce heat and water stress for some crops.

ENSOL fabricates clearances from around 3 m to 5 m and above, customised to the crop, the machinery used and the site.
